Welcome to Bowls Lancashire in 2010
County Championship/Competition Rules.
The amended rules can be viewed here and there is an opportunity to download them in the members section.
There are several changes to the rules and everyone who has entered the County Championships MUST take the time to read them. They are available here and also in the 'information book' that will be issued, for those that ordered one, prior to the start of the season.
Here are just a couple of the changes.
"In the case of Preliminary Rounds, the challenger must offer his/her opponents, at least 21 days prior to the closing date of the round, 2 dates free of International Competition, County Fixed Day events and free of International commitments of bona fide selectors and officials of Bowls England."
At the start of the season, with the County Championships and National Competitions requiring 'offering of dates' it was agreed that for the 'preliminary round only' of the County Championships a longer period for the offering of dates was required and this has been increased to 21 days.
"County match days may not be offered for matches where the prospective players may reasonably expect to be selected to represent the County and acceptance of the date offered will prevent those players representing the County at a match already in the County Calendar"
In other words, don't offer dates when you know your opposition is likely to be playing for Lancashire at a venue where they have no chance of playing the game unless they give up playing for the County!!
It is in your own interests to read them!!!!

Member Registration.
In an effort to cut the costs of running the County, the 2010 County Handbook will be replaced with a 'County Information Book'. This 'slimmed down' handbook will now only contain information that is thought to be absolutely necessary, i.e County Championship Rules, draws and the entrants contact details. All the other information which was contained in the old style handbook will be available on this website.
This information will 'only' be available to 'bona-fide' members of Bowls Lancashire and will 'only' be accessible if you first 'register'. On the links above you will see 'Member Login'. There you will be able to 'register' and then when registered, be able to 'login'. The 'registration process' could take up to 48hrs and if I, the Roving Reporter, do not know you as a member of Bowls Lancashire, then I will not complete your registration process.
