Coloured Bowling Shoes
The Bowls Lancashire Executive came to a decision at it's meeting that to promote bowls was to 'move with the times' and to allow coloured bowling shoes was a step in the right direction. When we have all sat and watched the Commonwealth Games Bowls matches it is difficult to argue against coloured shoes.
This decision has been queried and Graham Tomlinson has spoken with Bowls England. It would appear that there is a different interpretation of the rules concerning what the County can allow when it comes to clothing and footwear.
Graham Tomlinson, as the County Competition Secretary, is now going to write a letter to the Chief Executive of Bowls England to ascertain clarity over the County's right, for it's own members, to stipulate the dress code for County Championships leading to the National Championships.
Other questions with regards to coloured shoes will be asked and a full explanantion will be given in due course.
In the meantime, to prevent any problems with coloured shoes being worn, players are advised NOT to wear them in County Championships or when representing the County in National Inter-County Competitions until an answer has been received.
Results Reporting for County Championships
My prefered method of you reporting your results to me is by the 'results reporting form' on the County website, failing that send me an email via email@example.com.
If armageddon occurs and the internet fails or your computer, iphone or mobile phone have exploded into a million pieces and you cannot access the internet then feel free to ring me but only on my mobile phone.
