Patrons Day event

This was originally an event to replace that lost when the Lancashire HVP's folded.  Last year saw just 8 men take part and this year it was opened to the ladies as well.  This year saw 24 entrants playing in balloted pairs.  And yes!!! 2 ladies won it, Yvonne Hunter (Southport BC) and Val Flinn (Bolton FGBC)

Ivy Martin Trophy

This event took place on Sunday at Southport.  Played as a ballotted pair the winners were Chris O'Brien (Southport BC) and Doreen McGivern (Heaton Hall BC) seen here with the County Vice President Val Coldwell (right)

Alsop Cup

The Alsop Cup game due to be played this Saturday 31st July 2010 is Cancelled

Bowls Lancashire Mixed Pairs.

This event was held last Saturday and despite some very heavy rain and wind the event was played to a conclusion with the winners being Sue Hodgkinson and Peter Rogers from Heaton Hall Bowling Club.

Stella Logan

At the request of Bowls Durham, the next Stella Logan game, due to have been played on 30th July, has been cancelled.

Middleton/Muras and Alsop Team Managers.

At the end of this season Stephen Hemsley will be stepping down at the Middleton/Muras team Manager and Neil Macfarlane will be stepping down as the Alsop team manger leaving these posts vacant for the 2011 season.

Anyone who has an interest in these posts should make it known to the County Administrative Officer, Viv Tomlinson, no later than the first meeting after the County AGM which takes place in October 2010.  The appointment of these posts is decided on by the Executive Committee themselves.

Publicity Officer

In line with Bowls England, Bowls Lancashire is looking to appoint a 'Publicity officer for the County to try and promote the sport within the North West area.  People who are interested in taking up this position are asked to apply in writing (letter or email) to the County Administration officer outlining, in their opinion what they would envisage the this post holder should be looking to achieve and what they, as the individual could do to fulfill those aims.
